Although Rwanda is a small country in size, around 430.000 families works in coffee, with a covering area of 31.000 hectareas.
Remera washing station is one of the two stations owned by Bufcoffee. Starting in 2000, they started an aid program to guide producers to improve the way their coffee is collected and processed. This program teaches producers to increase their yield and quality which in return reflects on their quality of life.
These coffees have won 10 Cup of Excellence competitions over the past 8 years. Which is manly a result of the attention they put in improving the processes of the producers.
